1. Overview
ReportedCall.com ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at ReportedCall.com (the "Service"), a free reverse phone lookup tool that allows users to search for information about phone numbers and submit public reports about calls they have received.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and transparently.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 IP Address (Region Detection)
When you visit a phone number page on our Service, we use your IP address solely to determine your approximate geographic region (e.g., state or country). This information is used exclusively for internal viewing statistics — for example, to understand what regions users are searching from. Your IP address is not stored in a way that is linked to your identity, browsing history, or the specific numbers you searched. It is not shared with third parties for this purpose.
2.2 User-Submitted Reports
When you submit a report about a phone number, we collect the text content you provide in the free-text comment field. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other identifying information as part of the report form. You are explicitly advised not to include your own or any third party's personal information in the report text (see Section 8).
2.3 Contact Us Form
If you submit an inquiry through our Contact Us form, we collect the information you provide (such as your name and email address) solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. This information is deleted promptly after your request has been processed.
2.4 Number Removal Form
If you submit a request to have a phone number removed from our Service, we collect the information you provide in the removal request form. This data is used exclusively to process and fulfill your removal request and is deleted promptly once the request has been completed.
2.5 Automatically Collected Technical Data
Like most websites, our servers may automatically receive standard technical data such as browser type, operating system, referral URLs, and pages visited. This data is used for site security, performance monitoring, and analytics in aggregate form.
3. Data Sources
The phone number information displayed on ReportedCall.com is sourced from:
- Federal Trade Commission (FTC) – via publicly available API data.
- Federal Communications Commission (FCC) – via publicly available API data.
- User-submitted reports – community-contributed comments submitted through our report form.
We do not purchase or obtain phone number data from data brokers or other commercial third-party sources.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To display information about phone numbers and user-submitted reports.
- To determine your approximate region for internal viewing statistics only.
- To process Contact Us and Number Removal requests.
- To display advertising through Google AdSense.
- To analyze site usage and performance via Google Analytics.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Service.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, profiling, or targeted advertising beyond what is handled directly by Google AdSense under their own consent framework.
5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on the Service. Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help us and our partners operate the Service effectively.
5.1 Types of Cookies Used
- Analytics cookies – Google Analytics uses cookies to help us understand how visitors interact with the Service (e.g., pages visited, time on site, traffic sources). This data is aggregated and anonymized.
- Advertising cookies – Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads. Depending on your consent choice, these may include personalized advertising cookies.
5.2 Your Cookie Choices
When you first visit our Service, you will be presented with a consent notice provided by Google, allowing you to choose whether to accept personalized advertising. You may opt out at any time through your browser settings or via Google's Ad Settings at adssettings.google.com.
You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.
6. Third-Party Services
6.1 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to analyze usage of the Service. Google Analytics collects information about your use of our website and reports it to us in aggregate form. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required by law or where third parties process information on Google's behalf. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
6.2 Google AdSense
We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by their privacy policy and the consent choice you make when visiting our site. For more information or to opt out, visit adssettings.google.com.
6.3 FTC and FCC APIs
We retrieve publicly available phone number data through APIs provided by the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Communications Commission. We do not share any user data with these agencies.
7. Data Retention

- Contact Us form data: Deleted promptly after the inquiry has been responded to and resolved.
- Number Removal form data: Deleted promptly after the removal request has been processed.
- IP address / region data: Used in real time for region detection and statistical purposes; not stored in association with any user identity or search history on a persistent basis.
- Analytics data: Subject to Google Analytics' retention settings, which we configure to the minimum periods necessary.
8. User-Submitted Reports & Personal Information
Our report submission form is an open text field intended for descriptions of caller behavior (e.g., "This number called me multiple times offering an unsolicited warranty extension"). You should not include your own personal information or the personal information of others in your report. We explicitly advise against sharing names, addresses, social security numbers, financial information, or any other sensitive personal data in reports.
We are not responsible for any personal information that users voluntarily include in report text in violation of this guidance. If you believe a report contains your personal information and you wish to have it removed, please use our Number Removal form or Contact Us form.
9. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Our Service is hosted on servers located in the United States.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) provide you with specific rights regarding your personal information.
10.1 Your Rights
- Right to Know: You have the right to request information about the categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which we use it, and whether we disclose it to third parties.
- Right to Delete: You have the right to request deletion of your personal information that we have collected, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale: We do not sell your personal information as defined under the CCPA. You do not need to opt out because we do not engage in the sale of personal data. Note: Google AdSense may engage in cross-context behavioral advertising, which some definitions under CCPA may consider a "share." You may opt out via Google's consent tools provided on our site.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.
10.2 How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise your rights under the CCPA, please contact us using the information in Section 14. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days as required by law.
